At the time Arise Africa met Alliness, she was living with her widowed aunt who has 5 other children. Her parents had left her after moving to a distant village. Her aunt did not work and struggled to care for the children. Because Alliness was not a biological child, she was the last to be fed and was very unloved at home. She had ringworm and was sick. She was living in N'gombe compound and became a part of the Arise Africa Child Sponsorship Program in February of 2012. When we met Alliness, she was very quiet. Upon getting to know her better and visiting her home, we began to work with social welfare in order to obtain custody of her. With the Lord's grace, Alliness moved into the Arise Home on December 17th, 2012 and we couldn't imagine life without her!
Since moving into the Arise Home, Alliness has opened up quite a bit! She loves playing soccer in the backyard with her Arise brothers and sisters and is incredibly diligent in school. Her teachers have explained to us that not only does she work hard in her studies, but in her friendships as well. Alliness is very compassionate, gentle, and, no doubt, our most sassy! She loves to laugh and play and is the first to make others feel included. We are proud to see how confident she has become in herself! From getting braces, to changing grades, to getting new Arise Home brothers and sisters, Alliness embraces life and has an awesome attitude!
