Emeldah Phiri

Emeldah was born on August 19, 2008 and is the third eldest child in a family of seven children. She and her siblings live with their mother and their father has never been active in their lives. Emeldah’s mother supports their family by selling charcoal in their neighborhood. Every Sunday, Emeldah and her family attend church together where they continue to strengthen their Christian faith.

Emeldah is in 10th grade at MacDonald Brown School and this is her first year in our Arise Africa program. She is kind to others and makes friends easily. Her favorite subject is math and her favorite activity at school is Bible study. Her favorite Bible story is the story of Jonathan and David because she thinks their friendship is admirable. In her free time, Emeldah loves reading and singing. When Emeldah completes her education, she hopes to become an accountant.
