Kelvin Kasungami

Kelvin is 9 years old and is in third grade at our MacDonald Brown School. He lives with his mom and older sister in the Mtendere East neighborhood. His parents separated a few years ago due to marital disputes, and his father chose to relocate away from their home. Currently, his mom is not in formal employment but does odd jobs to finance bills and meals at home. Kelvin’s favorite color is green, his favorite fruit is a banana, and his favorite meal is nshima, our staple food, served with kale and fried eggs.

Kelvin is a kind young man and easily adapts to new environments. During his free time, he loves to play soccer with his friends, and sometimes they play hide and seek. He was schooling at Integrity Academy, a community school in his neighborhood, but his parents decided to enroll him to our Arise Africa school because of the benefits they had heard about. Kelvin’s favorite subject is math and is loves solving word problems.

Kelvin aspires to be a doctor when he is done with high school. He dreams of being a doctor that finds a cure to diseases around the world.
