Naomi Banda

Naomi was born on March 11, 2016 and is the firstborn child of her mother. She has three siblings, but they each have a different father. Naomi lives with her grandparents because her mother went to live with one of her siblings’ father, who does not want the responsibility of taking care of Naomi. Naomi has never met her own father because he left her mother when she was a baby. Naomi is named after her grandmother whom she has a close relationship with. Her grandfather sells tin buckets and pots for a living, and her grandmother works as a housekeeper.

Noami used to go to Chamba Valley Primary School before seeking sponsorship at Arise Christian School. She had stopped going to school last year in June because of an unfortunate incident while walking home that left her with a broken arm. Her school was very far from home so she walked two hours to and from school each day. This walk became unsafe for her and there was no one available to escort her back and forth.

Naomi is a very smart and friendly girl and she loves solving math problems. She is very active and she likes to express herself. Her favorite color is green, and she likes to play soccer with her friends at home. Her favorite meal is chicken and vegetables. Naomi has been doing very well at Arise Christian School and is determined to succeed in 3rd grade.
