Nelly Lungu

Nelly was born on August 23, 2018. She has one younger sister named Divine who is just 9 months old. Her father is a gardener, and her mother does odd jobs like washing and cleaning to help make ends meet. Because her father’s job doesn’t pay very well, it is hard for him to take her to school and feed the family. Her father also has drinking and gambling addictions, which causes financial challenges at home. This forces Nelly’s mother to provide most of their needs with the little money she makes from part-time jobs.

Nelly is a friendly but shy little girl. She is quiet, but she enjoys being in the company of her friends. She loves the colors red and pink, her favorite food is rice served with sausage, and she enjoys playing tag and hide and seek with her friends at home. Nelly loves being at Arise Christian School now and can’t wait to make new friends. Nelly wants to be a nurse when she grows up so she can help take care of others.
