Courtney’s desire to serve vulnerable populations started when she visited Mozambique and South America on mission trips as a teenager. In 2017, she spent a summer in Brussels, Belgium serving refugees from many different countries, confirming her interest in working with other cultures. Courtney studied Finance at Texas A&M prior to working in business consulting in order to gain experience operating organizations and implementing effective strategies. She left consulting in 2018 to establish a new office in Houston for Amplio Recruiting, a start-up job placement agency seeking to connect resettled refugees to sustainable employment.
Courtney moved to Fort Worth in the fall of 2020 with her husband, Eli and their dog, Sunday. During their move, Courtney completed a graduate certificate program in Nonprofit Management from the Bush School at Texas A&M. She had learned about Arise from several friends who had worked or volunteered there. She was intrigued by the mission of Arise and their impact in Zambia both practically and with the gospel. Courtney applied for a role only a few weeks after relocating to Fort Worth and the rest is history! She is thrilled to join the team and leverage her experience to facilitate operational growth and development.
