As Arise Africa has grown, Executive Director, Alissa Rosebrough had a dream about the ministry owning a building in America. She prayed this could happen for many reasons. First, Alissa was concerned that as the ministry needed more space and that the cost of rent would increase, creating more operation costs in America. Also, the ministry requires a unique space for offices because of the storage needed for gathering donations and supplies. Space was needed for large projects such as collecting and building Christmas bags for our children in sponsorship. The ministry was hindered by not having the ability to accept donations and not being able to have more staff and interns. Alissa approached a very small group of donors about her idea, and in 2017 Arise Africa purchased a 3500 square foot building in the Fairmount Historic District of Fort Worth, Texas. The building was bought with all cash from the few generous donors, and Arise did not take out a loan to purchase it.
ALL FUNDS USED TO PURCHASE, RENOVATE, AND FURNISH THE BUILDING WERE GIVEN BY A SMALL GROUP OF DONORS WHO REQUESTED THEIR DONATION TO BE USED FOR THE AMERICAN OFFICE.
The building has drastically changed the ministry and enabled Arise to be much more efficient and effective. The offices are located very close to TCU (Texas Christian University), which enables Arise to have interns working for the ministry. This cuts down on the need for American staffers, which enables more funding to go directly to children in Zambia. Having more interns has given the American staff a unique opportunity to disciple and encourage college students all while serving Arise together.
The building has not only given Arise Africa the space needed, it has also brought more attention to the ministry as it is located at a very busy intersection in a popular part of the city. Many cars drive by the office daily and see the logo on the building.
The building was built in the early 1900's. It was originally a grocery store and has served many other purposes over the past century. Arise did extensive renovations to the building to bring it up to code and make it purposeful for the ministry.
We love for supporters and donors to stop by the office (and bring coffee!) anytime!
