Abelessi Tembo

Abelessi is 20 years old and lives with her single mother and three siblings. She is the second born child. She has one older sibling and 2 younger siblings. Her father and mother divorced when she was in fifth grade. Abelessi’s mother is a small scale farmer and often travels back and forth to their village where she has a small piece of land to grow crops. When their mother is away, Abelessi and her older sister cook and look after their younger siblings.
Abelessi is studying Business Administration at the National Institute of Public Administration in Lusaka. She also has a passion for fashion and design. She hopes to one day create and design her own fashion line. Abelesi enjoys watching fashion shows to gain inspiration for her future creations.
