Mapalo Mulondwe

Mapalo is 11 years old and in the 6th grade at our Arise Christian School. Her name means “blessings”. She is the first born in a family of 3. She has one young sister, Butemwe and a younger brother, Bibusa. Mapalo’s father works as a driver and her mother is a social worker. Both of Mapalo’s parents are actively present in her life and they support her in every possible way. Mapalo and her family live in a neighborhood called Ng’ombe, within the capital of Zambia, Lusaka.

Mapalo is a confident and calm person who believes in herself. She has strong leadership skills which give her the ability to lead and manage herself and others. She is always willing and prepared to learn new things and improve herself. Her favorite subjects are mathematics and English. Mapalo’s favorite food is pizza and her favorite sport is basketball. She is a talented dancer and she loves reading books and reciting poems at school. At home she helps her parents to look after her young siblings.

Mapalo’s family goes to church nearly every Sunday. She loves attending Sunday School because that is where she finds her joy. At church, Mapalo can dance, sing and recite Bible verses. Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 and her favorite Bible story is the story of the Birth of Jesus.
