Rhoda Mwaba

Rhoda is 11 years old and is in 6th grade at MacDonald Brown School. She lives with her parents, her four sisters, and one brother in Mtendere East. Her father is a farmer and a part-time carpenter, while her mother is currently unemployed. Rhoda and her family attend church service at Peace Gospel Assembly. Singing choruses and hymns is her favorite part of the church service because she loves to sing and dance. She uses every opportunity to showcase her dancing ability as she describes herself as a good dancer.

While at home, Rhoda enjoys spending time with her siblings. Rhoda and her sisters usually bond by plaiting each other’s hair while sharing different stories and having fun. Sometimes she also bonds with her brother by playing soccer with him and his friends. While at school, her favorite subject is mathematics. Every year she challenges herself to become better at math.

Rhoda wants to be a pilot when she grows up. She knows and acknowledges that the starting point of her achieving her goal is working hard now and taking her school work seriously.
